The Christian Science Visiting Nurse Service for Michigan is a service provided to Christian Scientists, offering Christian
Science nursing care to patients who are working with a Journal listed Christian Science practitioner, and who wish to receive care in the home. Our Christian Science nurses are listed in the Christian Science Journal and are not medical nurses.

| Mission Statement
The mission of the Christian Science Visiting Nurse Service
for Michigan is to provide Christian Science nursing care
consistent with the theology of Christian Science.
The purpose of this organization is to provide a visiting
Christian Science nurse service within the state of Michigan
for those relying on Christian Science for healing
and who can be given proper care in their home.

Assistance Provided:
Our Home Helper Classes:
|
We provide one-day workshops for members of The Mother Church or
a Christian Science branch church who would like to learn how to give basic
minimal assistance in the home. Home Helpers are contacted on an individual basis.
They are also contracted independently of our service. Home helpers are available to help individuals
who need simple aid in their home which does not require bandaging or full nursing care.

While
home helpers are not Christian Science nurses, they are trained in:
The ethics of being a home helper and instructions
covering the scope of a home helper's job
The laws covering the job of the home helper
Introduction to basic personal care, including dressing
a patient, bathing, hair and oral care
Lifting and transferring
Mobility aids
Food and food preparation
Miscellaneous hands-on activities, examples and demonstrations

Equipment available for rental or purchase:
Our service is happy to provide equipment to Christian Scientists
who have a need.
Some items we rent for a modest fee, and others are required to be purchased.
